What is Investor Relations AI?

Investor Relations AI is AI for investor relations and investor services teams that answers LP and fund shareholder questions from each investor's own records and the fund's documents, every figure cited. Eight agents read the question in any language, check the sender is entitled, pull the figures, find the governing clause, draft the reply in the investor's language with the English beside it and check it. Replies that match a template an IR manager and compliance approved go out on their own; everything else is approved by a person and goes out with their name on it.

The problem

Why a two-line LP question still takes a day to answer

Investor relations and investor services teams answer the same questions thousands of times a quarter: what did we receive, where is my statement, when is the tax pack, has the wire arrived. Volumes spike after quarter-end statements, distributions, capital calls and every K-1 season. The answer always sits in two places — that investor's own capital account, notice or register entry, and a clause in the LPA, side letter, PPM or prospectus — so an associate checks the sender against the CRM, opens the fund administrator's system and the document library, writes the reply, often has it translated, and waits for the IR manager to approve anything with a figure in it.

Generic chatbots cannot do this work, and compliance rightly blocks them: they do not know who may see which account, they cannot cite, and they do not use approved wording. The failures are quiet ones — a figure from the wrong LP's capital account, a translated number with the wrong separator, a promise that contradicts a side letter, two LPs told different dates, a lookalike domain asking to change bank details, and a complaint answered as a routine query while a regulatory clock runs that nobody sees. Afterwards, the reply sits in the CRM with no record of where its figures came from.

One LP's question in German, answered with investor relations AI

Monday, October 19, 2026. At 02:12 ET — 08:12 in Bern — Dr. Beat Hofstetter, Head of Private Markets at Pensionskasse Aaretal, a Swiss pension fund with a EUR 40,000,000 commitment to Quillfield European Infrastructure Fund IV SCSp, emails Quillfield Capital in German. Here is what happens next, screen by screen, in the working solution.

  1. 0109:05 ET

642 questions since midnight, and what needs her

Elena Marsh · Head of Investor Relations, Private Markets

Elena's day opens on four numbers: 418 answered automatically, from approved templates only; 23 waiting for her; 9 complaints routed, clocks started, to Grace Whitfield; 6 held for safety. Below them, a ranked “Needs you” list — Pensionskasse Aaretal's Q3 distribution and tax-pack question first, due 17:00 — and beside it a conversation with the agents, with three questions ready to ask: What changed overnight? Anything risky? What went out automatically?

“Overnight we read 642 questions in 11 languages. 418 went out from approved templates; 23 need an IR manager.”

  2. 02One click

The question in German, with the English beside it

Elena Marsh · Head of Investor Relations, Private Markets

Start with Pensionskasse Aaretal opens question Q-48207. The investor's email sits in the original German with the agents' English beside it: how much was the third-quarter distribution, and when will the 2026 tax pack arrive? Above it, the entitlement line says why this sender may see this account and exactly what the agents were allowed to read. On the right, the four sources the reply uses, the distribution notice open on its page.

“Entitled. Dr. Beat Hofstetter is an authorized contact for LP-IV-0187 (CRM, signatory list v7, verified Mar 4, 2026). The agents read only: account LP-IV-0187 · QEIF IV fund documents · side letter SL-IV-0187.”

  3. 037.1 seconds, overnight

How the agents answered, step by step

    Seven agents, one after another

The Intake & language agent read Swiss German and split two questions. The Entitlement agent checked the CRM and signatory list v7 and set the read scope. The Investor records agent read distribution notice DN-IV-2026-Q3-0187 — EUR 1,284,500 paid September 30 — and the Q3 capital account: income 1,031,200 plus return of capital 253,300. The Fund documents agent found LPA §8.3 and side letter §4.1, which asks for German; no clause moves the tax date. No single approved template covers both questions, so the Reply drafting agent wrote it in German, in Swiss format, with the English beside it.

Conduct & complaints agent: “No complaint, no instruction, no bank details.”

  4. 04Every figure

Click a citation, see the clause on its page

Elena Marsh · Head of Investor Relations, Private Markets

Every figure in the reply carries a numbered citation, the same number in the German and the English. Elena clicks 3 beside “15. März 2027” and the Limited Partnership Agreement opens on the right at page 61 of 212, with section 8.3 Tax Information highlighted: tax information to each Limited Partner “no later than March 15 of each year”. Citation 1 opens the distribution notice, 2 the capital account statement, 4 the side letter in German.

  5. 05Before anyone reads it

Back-translated, recomputed and compared with other LPs

    Checking agent

The Checking agent had a second model re-translate the German into English: 0 changes of meaning. It recomputed all three figures (1,031,200 + 253,300 = 1,284,500), checked the number format — EUR 1'284'500 in Swiss German, EUR 1,284,500 in English — read all 14 clauses of the side letter, and confirmed the same tax date was given to all 186 QEIF IV LPs, so no LP was told an earlier date. Then it routed the reply to a person.

“Route: a person approves — confidence 0.96 is above 0.92, but no single approved template covers both questions.”

  6. 06Before she signs

She asks the agents before she signs

Elena Marsh · Head of Investor Relations, Private Markets

Under the reply, Elena asks the agents in plain words: “Was this told to other LPs?” The answer comes back with its source: all 186 QEIF IV LPs were given March 15, 2027 in the fund-wide notice of October 1, no side letter in Fund IV moves it, and 37 more LPs asked the same question this morning, grouped in wave W-118. She could also ask “Why March 15?”, “Show the capital account” or “Make it shorter” — the agents re-check the figures after any change.

  7. 07Approved

Sent with her name on it

Elena Marsh · Head of Investor Relations, Private Markets

Daniel Okoro, an investor services associate in London, prepared the reply at 03:41 ET with no edits to the agents' draft — he is the maker, Elena the checker. Approve & send shows who it goes to, the language, the four sources attached and the sent-by line, and asks for a checker note: “Figures match the notice and LPA §8.3; side letter respected.” The reply goes out in German, the English kept on file, and the footer now reads “Sent by Elena Marsh, Investor Relations”, with who prepared it and the four sources.

“Sent to Dr. Beat Hofstetter · logged with 4 sources”

  8. 0809:08 to 09:09 ET

Approve once as a template, answer 37 more

Elena Marsh and Marcus Bell · IR manager and compliance reviewer

Elena proposes the reply as template T-DIST-07, “Quarterly distribution and tax-pack date”, filled in per investor with amount, income, return of capital, payment date and tax date. The Template & waves agent writes and back-translates six language variants; Marcus Bell co-approves for compliance at 09:09 ET. The 37 waiting questions in wave W-118 — German, French, English, Dutch, Italian and Japanese — are answered, each with that LP's own amount from its own distribution notice, side letters checked.

“37 answered in 6 languages, each with that LP's own figures and sources. Similar questions are answered from now on.”

  9. 09Already sending

    A K-1 wave of 312, and the 16 who need a person

    Template & waves agent

Waves form when the same question arrives 10 or more times in 5 days. Wave W-117 — “Why was the 2025 K-1 amended?” for Quillfield North America Private Credit Fund III — went to 312 investors in four languages after Elena and Marcus Bell approved one answer. 296 are answered, each with its own figure, such as USD 30,750 moved for Ridgeline Teachers' Retirement System, cited to the K-1 notice. 16 have side-letter terms and are pulled out for a person.

  10. 1006:56 ET

A lookalike sender asks to change bank details

Mei Lin Tan · Transfer Agency Supervisor

An email from pk-aaretaI.ch — a capital I in place of the letter l — asks, urgently, to pay future distributions to a new bank account. The Entitlement agent stopped it before any record was read, and no reply was drafted. It goes to Mei Lin Tan with the steps: call Dr. Hofstetter on the number on file, never a number in the email; the call is recorded by the identity call-back service; a second person confirms the outcome before anything changes.

“Not entitled — nothing was read.”

Ask in plain words

Talk to the investor relations AI agents about any reply

Ask about the day, a question or a draft in plain words — or tell the agents what to change. Every answer names where it came from, and nothing is sent without a person's approval.

What changed overnight?

Since midnight: 642 questions, up 38% on a normal Monday — the Q3 distribution notices for Fund IV went out on September 23 and capital account statements on October 15. Distribution and tax-date questions are 31% of the total.

Anything risky?

Two holds: a lookalike domain asking for a bank change (Q-48219) and an analyst asking about a fund outside his scope (Q-48226). No records were read for either. One question is at risk of its SLA: Q-48213, due in 1 h 55 min.

Why March 15?

The date comes from section 8.3 of the QEIF IV Limited Partnership Agreement: tax information is delivered “no later than March 15 of each year” for the preceding fiscal year, so for FY2026 that is March 15, 2027. Aaretal's side letter SL-IV-0187 (14 clauses) sets German as the language but does not move the date.

Questions

What IR and investor services teams ask about investor relations AI.

How does AI answer LP questions from an investor's own records?

The Entitlement agent first sets what may be read — for Pensionskasse Aaretal, account LP-IV-0187, the QEIF IV fund documents and its side letter. The Investor records agent then reads only that LP's distribution notice and capital account statement, and the Fund documents agent finds the clause that governs the answer, such as LPA section 8.3 for the tax-pack date. Each figure in the reply cites the page it came from.

Can an investor relations chatbot show one investor another investor's figures?

Not here: no record is read until the Entitlement agent has checked the sender against the CRM's authorized contacts, the transfer-agency register and signatory lists. In the working solution, a contact authorized for QEIF IV reports only who asked about a QGBO VII account was held with no records read, and so was a lookalike domain. In the test results before release shown in settings, run on 1,200 anonymized questions, answers given to a sender not entitled were 0.

Can AI answer investors in their own language?

Yes. The sample night had questions in 11 languages, among them German, French, Dutch, Japanese, Spanish and Arabic. The reply is drafted in the investor's language with the English beside it for the IR team, a second model back-translates it, and the Checking agent checks number formats — EUR 1'284'500 in Swiss German, EUR 1,284,500 in English.

How are investor complaints handled under FCA DISP and CSSF 16-07?

The Conduct & complaints agent reads every message, in any language, and starts the right clock the moment it finds a complaint — FCA DISP, CSSF Regulation 16-07, FINRA Rule 4530 reporting or firm policy — with the words that made it one. The agents never reply to a complaint: an associate prepares the acknowledgment, the complaints officer approves it, and calling something “not a complaint” needs a reason and the Head of Compliance's approval, while the clock keeps running.

Will it ever give an investor a return forecast?

No. Forecasts, expected returns and performance promises are on the never-automatic list, labeled SEC Marketing Rule in settings, and the Reply drafting agent never writes a forecast or a promise. When Fundación Riberal asked for a 2027 return forecast, the forecast part was declined with approved wording and the NAV and capital call questions were answered, for an IR manager to approve.

Do people stay in control?

Yes. Agents cannot approve: an IR manager approves every reply that is not an approved template, the person who prepared or edited a reply cannot approve it, and templates and waves need an IR manager and compliance. Rejecting a draft takes a reason, kept on the audit trail, any agent can be paused with a reason, and every step is on the audit trail.

How long does it take to go live?

The Agentic Solution Engine builds and deploys Investor Relations AI from your requirements, fund documents and the systems your investors' records live in, and it goes live once every quality gate has passed. Its setup guide has five steps — connect the systems of record, load the fund documents, import the answers you already use, map roles and approvals, set the rules — and most firms finish in two to three weeks, including two weeks of shadow mode in which the agents draft and people send.
